For The Love of The Game

Happy Valentine’s Day, everyone! Stefan here, excited to share with you how Ken, Emma, Henri, and I all fell in love with the game of tennis. We all love tennis so much, whether it’s because of the excitement of a rally, the fans cheering us on from the stands, or the friendships you make in your journey. Tennis is the total package, offering numerous physical benefits while also sharpening your mental health. If you’re not sure about trying it,we all recommend giving it a shot! It’s a fun sport where you better yourself while also making connections with others.

I’ll begin with why I fell in love with tennis, and it’s pretty clear if you understand me well, as my chums do. I’ve always been competitive in any sport I participate in. I’m devoted to being the best I can be. Tennis isn’t like other sports that require teammates to help, unless you count doubles. When trying tennis as a sport, I found it thrilling to be in charge of advancing myself with each point I earned. I’m my own team on the court; no one else to blame but myself if there’s a mistake. Due to my competitive nature, I practice either in the hottest or coldest parts of the year. If I win a match, I’m overcome with satisfaction knowing I did it all by myself.

When it comes to tennis, Emma is all about the aesthetics.Ask anyone, and they’ll tell you she’s the most fashionable athlete on the court for a tennis match. Her go-to fit is a crop top or cropped hoodie, usually in a pink color. She’s mentioned that her fashion sense comes from watching tennis legends as a young bunny. Steffi Graf, a tennis legend, played a key role in inspiring her passion for the game. Steffi Graf is widely regarded as one of the greatest female tennis players of all time. She won 22 GrandSlam singles titles, held the world number one ranking for a record 377 weeks, and remains the only player to achieve a Golden Slam—winning all four major tournaments and the Olympic gold medal in the same year. Emma works hard to emulate her style, often drawing inspiration from Graf, as well as from active players like Naomi Osaka and Emma Raducanu. Watching and admiring great tennis players inspires her to pursue the same level of excellence. With the way she trains and her determination, she can be an all-time great herself.

Henri is a confident player on the court. He’s level-headed, reserved, but has a great motor when it comes to playing on the court. His love of tennis came as a young panda growing up. Where he grew up, he played many tricks on kids his age, even on some of his siblings. From swapping toothpaste to icing, a plastic bug in an ice cube in your drink, or a fake spider on your head, Henri has seen it and done it. While playing tennis in middle school, he tried to incorporate his tricks into the sport. When chasing a ball, he performed a “tweener”. This occurs when you hit the ball between your legs. Everyone was amazed when Henri pulled off the trick, surprised by his unexpected move on the court. After that, he gravitated toward tennis, drawn by the chance to display his trick shots while continuing to practice essential strokes like his forehand and serve. While he’s less of a trickster than in the past, he sometimes can pull out a few clever shots that make the crowd ooh and aah, but now he’s working to choose his moments wisely.

Ken is an excellent player who has an all-around game. He’s best at his call outs and anticipating where the ball is going to end up next. As a young koala, he used to watch his mother train and play in tennis matches. He enjoyed watching his mother try her best and win many matches. Sometimes, he’d help her out by calling where the ball would land, almost like her coach. His passion, fueled by his mom, progressed into his journey as a tennis player now. He’s more laid back with his approach than others but is very meticulous with his strategies. He loves the interaction with fans when he plays. Ken is a true pro who enjoys a nice barbecued snag just as much as he enjoys winning a match.
